PatriotsThe NFL season has started, and I project the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl. Tom Brady has returned and his performance in the preseason proved that he hasn’t lost anything from missing last year. Randy Moss still looks to be a great receiver who will demand double coverage. This of course leaves Wes Welker open underneath and across the middle.

They have the most explosive offense in football, and are almost unstoppable. The offensive line is experienced and solid enough to both protect Brady and to establish a running game. They have a handful of proven hardnosed runners which include the newly added Fred Taylor.

Defensively they are transitioning to younger players and have two new starting cornerbacks. They have drafted heavily into their secondary the past two years, but their starters will be newly acquired free agents Leigh Bodden and Shawn Springs. The defensive line has two pro bowl caliber players in Vince Wilfolk and Ty Warren. The linebacker situation is a mystery with the loss of Mike Vrabel and Teddy Bruschi. The problem is mostly on the outside since this is where their pass rush comes from and it doesn’t look like they have a pass rushing linebacker.

This team is all about offense so they can probably win without defensive pro bowlers. They have enough fire power to outscore any other team in football. It will be between the Patriots and the Steelers. The Steelers are more physical, but their offense tends to sputter and it can’t match the Patriots.

The Patriots will be playing Monday night at 7:00. You should watch, Brady and Moss will put on a show that is the most awesome in football today.
