FreedomWorks Declares War on Health Care Reform Liberal Left Takeover

Thursday, October 15, 2009
By Mike Hammer (alias the peasant)

The cash I’m laying out for doctors, hospital treatment, and medicine is getting to be beyond what I can pay. I put it all on my credit card, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to pay the balance off when the bill comes in. That’s a trap I don’t want to fall into. What can I do?  Man, I need health insurance. Wait a minute, I do have health insurance!

I can’t afford to pay my health insurance premiums, and I can’t afford to pay what my insurance won’t pay for, the co-payments and deductibles. What’s wrong with this picture? Well if you ask FreedomWorks I’m doing just fine.  In fact in order to make sure my Cadillac coverage is not tinkered with they have DECLARED WAR ON THE SENATE HEALTH CARE BILL.  Just what I needed, I’m already sick enough as it is.

Ok, help me out guys what’s the plan:

Online War Room

Issue: Senate Health Care Bill

http://www.freedomworks.org/online-war-room

FreedomWorks has set-up an online “war room” to stop the liberal Left from sneaking their hostile takeover of America’s health care system through the U.S. Senate.  Senate moderates and centrists will be pivotal in this debate and we have compiled a list of these key targets. Help us apply the necessary pressure on these lawmakers that will convince them to oppose the hostile government takeover of American health care. They need to know specifically that a vote for cloture = a vote for government-run health care.

My god! Online war room, why didn’t I think of this! Those senators are out to screw me big time. If reform passes I won’t be able to pay my medical bills even more than I can’t now!

FreedomWorks is like a good neighbor they’ll be there for me. No wait, that’s some insurance company I’m thinking of. Actually, FreedomWorks, by declaring war on health care reform HAS DECLARED WAR ON ME!

Somebody tell these people it’s just not the liberal left, it’s over 70% of Americans who want reform! Why would FreedomWorks want to see people like me go broke, whose side are they on anyway, average working people or the insurance companies?

Oops, I think I answered my own question. FreedomWorks is a bunch of conservative, republican, free market worshipping ideologues who are not people friendly only profit friendly. What’s good for business is good for you and me.

I agree, except there are exceptions to every rule. Wall Street Bankers and the health care industry are exceptions. FreedomWorks should be smart enough to figure this out unless they have something to gain at the expense of their fellow human beings.

These people are representative of those who are preventing health care and banking regulation reforms. These reforms are essential to the future well being of me and the country. These people cannot be allowed to call the shots.

There is a war going on all right. It’s between the haves and these have nots. FreedomWorks is the enemy. Working Americans need some protection not because we are the liberal left but because we are human beings. We don’t ask much from the free market, only that they respect a few boundaries of basic human decency.

They have crossed over those boundaries and now we need our representatives in Washington to push them back and give us some breathing room. What’s so wrong with that?
