Christmas Day Airline Bomber Suspect Holiday Gift to Republicans
What took you so long Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab? Dick Cheney and the republicans have been sweating out your arrival for a long time now. They were getting afraid you were going to be a no-show. Umar is the 23-year-old Nigerian who attached explosive materials to his under pants and attempted to blow up a plane headed for Detroit.
Republican rule has been a pathetic failure on all fronts except for their stellar record for keeping the country safe from terrorist attacks. The Bush presidency ranks as one of the worst in American history except for its claim that there were no attacks on American soil while he was in office. No, that wasn’t a coincidence; it was because he personally was on guard and foiled innumerable assaults at the border. By the way, the 9/11 attacks, the worst ever on the mainland, don’t count because Bush didn’t start paying attention to terrorism until 9/12. But you have to give him credit for a perfect record once he started paying attention. You can’t blame the republicans for the bombing of New York City and Washington D.C. just because they were in charge at the time. That’s just not fair. Just because Rumsfeld nearly got blown up in his office chair inside the Pentagon doesn’t mean he wasn’t a top notch secretary of defense.
Bring em on Bush, like the great old soldier that he was, has, as McArthur would say, did the right thing and just faded away. His big brother, Dick Cheney, just refuses to do the same. Cheney warned us that if we voted for Obama we would see terrorist attacks in downtown Main Street U.S.A. and he wants to be there when it happens so he can say I told you so. Well his time has come. Go ahead Dick tell us you warned us this would happen.
Predicitng a terrorist attack on American soil is a safe bet since we can’t control airport security in foreign airports. At least we can’t scan for explosive materials hidden in someone’s underwear. Dick Cheney thought of enhanced interrogation water boarding, but he never thought of the check the underpants procedure.
Republicans have claimed ownership of the military and its non-essential, political, and business related usage throughout the world. They are not afraid to launch an all out invasion of a third world country whether they attacked us or not. They take great pride in wasteful all out attacks on targets that have no military significance in search of weapons of mass destruction that aren’t there.
Republicans have one issue they can talk about, the war on terror. They are experts on this and they are the only ones who can prosecute it effectively. Left in the hands of a liberal, the war effort will turn the advantage over to the terrorists and American streets will run red with the blood of victims of suicide bombers. After all, democrats want to read terrorist their rights where republicans just want to kill them.
And so the Christmas day bomber has proved unequivocally that Obama cannot keep us safe mainly because he doesn’t believe that we are at war. The failed and disgraced Republican Party now has something they can crow about. Obama sucks when it comes to terrorism. Actually, that is all they have to say. They don’t have any program to prevent terrorist attacks, they just like to bad mouth Obama.
And so we have to listen to this for the next three years non-stop. When Sarah Palin becomes president the attacks will stop since the terrorists will be too afraid to attack America during a republican presidency.
Our country has become a sad caricature of itself. It has been run by fools and incompetents with predictable results. Incompetence on the throne is nothing new and we have come to expect that. To fail is human; to fail and call it victory is a special talent perfected by republicans and is symptomatic of megalomania and delusion.
When you watch these republican theatrics you come to believe there is no hope. What are the prospects for the future of America? Based on what I’m seeing they look very dismal. Enjoy today because it’s all downhill from here.

I find it ironic that people is blaming American aviation authorities for the security breach, even though the ‘christmas day bomber’ foiled security in a completely different country! How does that make sense??
