Style: Bold Style
No, it's not a futuristic concept vehicle you'd see at an international auto show. But with its advanced, forward-thinking style and design, it might just as well be. It's the all-new Flex.
Style: Grooved Door Panels
The four deep grooves on the bodysides are like character lines, setting the tone for the clean, linear look and feel that sets the Flex apart.
Style: Optional 18" or 19" Wheels______
Flex comes with 18-inch wheels on the SE and SEL models and 19 inches on the high-end Flex Limited (shown). They're designed to deliver a smooth, comfortable ride, and also to help keep the vehicle firmly planted on the road surface.
Style: 3-Bar Chrome Grille_____
The clean, linear look and feel of the Flex begins, fittingly, up front with the signature Ford 3-bar chrome grille and carries through to virtually every facet of Flex's bold, innovative design.
Style: Two-Toned Roof Option
Select the two-tone roof option and go for a customized look. Match a White Suede roof with one of six body colors. Or how about a striking Brilliant Silver roof with a Black or White Suede body? Go ahead and pick one. It's perfectly okay to stand out from the ordinary crowd.
Style: Unique Greenhouse
Riding on Foose Design 22-inch wheels and Eibach springs customized for a lower appearance, the Foose Flex exterior features a custom-mixed, two-tone blue and cream pearl paint job. Inside, this color scheme continues with three-tone blue, gray and tan premium leather surfaces by Katzkin Leather. The Foose Flex reflects the right amount of expressive luxury appeal. See how it comes to life in this behind-the-scenes video.
Style: Chip Foose Flex Mod
Want off-the-line performance and handling? Just call on the Mustang engineers. They've developed a three-link, solid-axle rear suspension with outboard-mounted shocks and a panhard rod to do just that.
Style: Funk Master Flex Mod
Straight from the Bronx, in this corner: the new 2009 Ford Flex, tricked out by urban legend, Funkmaster Flex. It’s cloaked in signature Brandywine paint by House of Kolor with a faux brushed aluminum roof. To pack more punch, it rides on a lowered suspension and custom 22" rims. The inside? A total knockout: Katzkin custom seat covers, blistering Sony sound system, Invisions DVD headrests and of course, Funkmaster Flex custom floormats. Watch the video to see how it’s done.
Comfort: 6- or 7- Passenger Seating______
Every Flex comes with 1st-row bucket seats, 2nd-row 60/40 split bench seat and 3rd-row 50/50 split bench seat for 7-passenger seating. Or go with a 6-passenger arrangement by choosing the optional 2nd-row 40/40 bucket seats, which offer an available center console with storage. What's most amazing about the Flex isn't the number of passengers it can accommodate, but the amazing amount of seating room and sense of open space it provides.
Comfort: Fold-Flat Seat Backs
In a Flex, all the seat backs (except the driver's, of course) fold flat to make it easier to accommodate whatever cargo you need to carry. So, if you really want to transport a lot of things, fold down the 2nd- and 3rd-row seats plus the front passenger seat back. Those extra-long items you couldn't move before - not a problem now.
Comfort: Multi-panel Vista Roof Option
If you're the kind of person who just can't get enough natural light, the multipanel Vista Roof option will definitely be on your list of must-have features. The Vista Roof consists of four skylights covering all three rows of occupants. A power moonroof sits over the 1st row. The 2nd row has two openings. And a larger single skylight is over the 3rd row.
Comfort: Refrigerated Console Option
If you go with the available 2nd-row 40/40 bucket seats, you can also get the optional rear console refrigeration. Unlike systems that just keep beverages cool, the compressor-driven unit in Flex can chill up to seven 12-oz. cans, four half-liter bottles or two 20-oz. bottles down to 41°F. There's also a freeze mode that'll go down to 23°F.
Comfort: Storage Places
Flex provides a lot of places to put your things. A 1st-row console with storage. Integrated 1st- and 2nd-row door storage pockets. Map pockets behind the 1st-row seats. A large, lockable glove box. Ten cup and bottle holders as well. What's more, the optional 2nd-row 40/40 bucket seats offer an available center console with storage bin. Look around the inside of a Flex - yes, Ford designers pretty much thought of everything.
Comfort: Road Noise Buster
Our engineers put Flex through extensive, wind tunnel testing – with wind speeds of up to 100 mph – to help pinpoint and silence even the smallest sources of noise. Add to that a new inset design for the front and rear side doors to help reduce interior noise, and advanced sound-deadening materials to insulate the vehicle. The result? One quiet ride.
Comfort: Enjoy the Ride
Ford engineers put a lot of effort into making the Flex the exceptionally comfortable vehicle it is. Its body structure is built with high-strength steel that contributes to its solid, confident stance on the road. And a new rear independent suspension with unique geometry delivers balanced ride and handling capabilities. So, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride.
Comfort: No Need for Step Bars
The low body profile has the design effect of a customized vehicle. But Ford designers had more in mind than style. Your experience of comfort begins when you're getting in and ends when you're getting out. Take note of the integrated rocker panel. You don't see step bars, right? That's because you don't need them for stepping up or down. Three rows of comfortable Flex seating await you and your passengers. So slide right in. And enjoy the ride.
Technology: Easy Fuel Capless Fueling_____
The Easy Fuel™ capless fueling feature comes standard on every Flex. Because the seal is open for less time, fewer fuel emissions are released.
Technology: Ford Sync
Ford's industry-exclusive hands-free SYNC Communications and Entertainment System* is optional in Flex SE and SEL and standard in Flex Limited. This state-of-the-art, voice-activated system fully integrates Bluetooth®-enabled mobile phones and digital media players. What can SYNC do? Here's a sampling: Connects multiple Bluetooth®-enabled phones. Allows you to control the entire library of your connected MP3 player by voice. Offers complete hands-free control of your main cell phone. Want to know more? Go to syncmyride.com.
Technology: Next-Generation Navigation
The next-generation DVD Navigation System with Reverse Camera System and SIRIUS Travel Link™ service* is an exclusive option in the high-end Limited model. SIRIUS Travel Link includes real-time traffic information, current and forecasted national weather information, fuel prices, sports scores and schedules, and movie listings. Programming is subject to geographical location and availability.
Technology: Responsive Performance
The 3.5L Duratec V6 that powers Flex features dual overhead cams activating four valves per cylinder with advanced variable-cam timing technology, generating 262 horsepower and 248 lb.-ft. of torque. This advanced V6 is mated to an equally advanced 6-speed automatic transmission. It features a wide span of gear ratios across the six speeds, providing responsive acceleration at the low end and enhanced fuel economy at the overdrive 6th gear.
Technology: Sony Audio System w/ Sirius
Want a really awesome sound system that's designed for the automotive environment? Then listen up. It's a Sony brand unit with 390 watts of power and 10 premium speakers, an in-dash 6-disc CD changer, MP3 capability, and SIRIUS Satellite Radio* with complimentary 6-month subscription. It's the premier system in the Flex SEL and Limited models - and just one more reason you won't want to leave the comfort of your Flex.
Technology: Ambient Lighting Option
Choose lighting that fits your mood with the 7-color programmable ambient lighting feature that's standard in Flex Limited and available in Flex SEL with the optional Lighting Package. You can change the lighting on two LEDs on the rear of the front console, two in the front footwells, one inside the front floor console, and two around the front cupholders.
Technology: Rear-Seat DVD Entertainment System
A premier vehicle deserves an entertainment system that's up to its high standards of comfort and quality. That's why the screen of the available Rear Seat DVD Entertainment System is eight inches wide. The system has two channels, so passengers can easily switch back and forth between the stereo system and the DVD player.

Actually, it's a crossover. 2 in front, up to 3 in the middle, and 2 in back. Loaded with technology such as available voice-activated communication and entertainment. A 3.5L V6. 6-speed automatic transimission. 24 mpg on the highway!
It's got you covered, 6 airbags, including a 3-row safety canopy system, and a rollover sensor, comes standard. White suede, brilliant silver or body-color roof, your choice.
Turn the key, turn the corner, and expect to turn some heads. The all new Ford Flex isn't just exciting to look at - it's exciting to drive!
Driving in bad weather can be downright unnerving. But don't worry - Flex offers available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. The beauty of AWD is that it doesn't just react to wheel slippage when it occurs, but anticipates it. AWD continuously monitors vehicle and driver inputs, predicts traction, and automatically delivers the precise amount of engine torque needed to all the wheels - even before slippage occurs.
Safety: Full Air-Bag Coverage
Flex comes with dual-stage front seat airbags in the Personal Safety System® and front seat-mounted side impact airbags. And there's the Safety Canopy System with side curtain airbags that helps protect outboard occupants in all three rows. The system can sense a side impact or rollover occurring. It also has "roll-fold" technology: the curtain airbag is designed to position itself between the occupant's head and side window glass.
Safety: AdvanceTrac with RSC
AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™(RSC®), standard in Flex, is the only stability control system with gyroscopic sensors measuring both vehicle roll and turning rates. Corner too quickly or swerve to avoid an object and RSC applies brake pressure and reduces engine power to help keep you under control. How quickly does RSC work? Well, how fast can you blink an eye?
Safety: Reverse Camera System Option
The high-end Flex Limited can be equipped with the available Reverse Camera (included with the optional DVD Navigation System and SIRIUS Travel Link™ Service). The camera automatically displays an image of what's behind you on the center dash display panel when you put the gearshift selector in reverse.
Safety: 4-Wheel Disc ABS
The smooth and straight stopping action of 4-wheel disc Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is standard on every Flex. But braking isn't ABS's only task. The AdvanceTrac® Stability Enhancement System applies the anti-lock brakes as one of the measures it takes to help improve traction.
Safety: Tire Pressure Monitoring System
It's very important to check your tire pressure regularly to keep all four inflated within the manufacturer's specified pressure range, because tire pressure affects ride comfort, safety, and fuel economy. That's why Flex comes equipped with a standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Class III Trailer Tow Package: Includes hitch receiver with 4500 lb. rating, 4-/7- pin connectors w/ wiring harness, engine oil cooler and tire mobility kit.
